During an interview on “Fox and Friends”, Donald Trump asserted that Ted Cruz’s father was somehow connected to the assassination plot to kill JFK. The National Inquirer had posted a picture of a man standing next to Lee Harvey Oswald, who appears to look similar to Ted Cruz’s father in his passport photo. The newspaper claimed a photo expert stated that the two photos looked similar. Donald Trump took the story from the National Inquirer and ran with it, touting it as anything but “Fake News”.
The photo expert, Mitch Goldstone, president and CEO of ScanMyPhotos, later called Trump’s unqualified assertion that it is Cruz’s father “stupid.”
