Donald Trump complains about fake news on almost a daily basis. Yesterday it was disclosed that he, or somebody in his organization, went to the trouble of creating a fake Time Magazine cover to display at his properties. The Washington Post reported that the fake covers had been displayed at a minimum of five Trump properties, including Mar-A-Lago. Other sources put the count at eight properties.
According to Time Magazine, no issue was produced on the date that the fake cover displays. The fake cover boldly states “Trump is hitting on all fronts…Even TV!” Towards the bottom, the fake cover exclaims “The Apprentice is a television smash!” Today, Time Magazine asked the Trump Organization to remove the fake magazine covers. The Trump Organization did not respond to requests for comment.
Many people found that after so many complaints about “Fake News”, it is extremely ironic that Trump himself would permit such an abuse of misperception. To make matters even worse, after decrying that the media is fake, he produces fake images using their trademarked artwork.
