Last week, both President Trump and his spokesperson, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, claimed that all was fine with the relationship betweet Trump and National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster. A week later McMaster is out of a job.
In what has become almost a weekly occurance, McMaster was fired from his senior position as part of the Trump staff. His departure follows other recently fired staff members and top aides including Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. McMaster is scheduled to be replaced by John Bolton on April 9th.
McMaster, a former 3-star general, may have upset Trump last month when he said about Russians interferring in the 2016 elections “As you can see with the FBI indictment, the evidence is now really incontrovertible and available in the public domain”. Russians did interfere with elections
Last week Trump was questioned about news reports that McMaster might be the next one on the chopping block after the President fired Rex Tillerson by tweet. Trump responded “They wrote a story about staff changes that was very false, it was a very false story…a very exaggerated and false story.”
and from Sarah:
Just spoke to @POTUS and Gen. H.R. McMaster – contrary to reports they have a good working relationship and there are no changes at the NSC.

Apparently stories were not false, and the President didn’t have such a good working relationship with McMaster.
