Rob Porter, trusted Trump Aide in charge of all documents that filter through the Oval Office, resigned Wednesday after the second of his two ex-wives accused him of domestic violence.
Chief of Staff John Kelly, apparently did not consider the wife beating any reason to think less of Porter. “Rob Porter is a man of true integrity and honor, and I can’t say enough good things about him,” Kelly said after the allegations surfaced. Kelly later added “Every individual deserves the right to defend their reputation.”
The comments were not suprising considering how the the Trump Administration and the GOP have been dealing with similar allegations amongst themselves. The RNC recently stated it would let an investigation play out before returning money raised by its now-resigned former finance chair, Steve Wynn, who faces multiple sexual assault allegations.
Both of Porter’s ex-wives accused the Trump staffer of abuse.
