Newly appointed White House Director of Communications Anthony Scaramucci needs a lesson in communications. In a obscenity-filled rant to The New Yorker’s Ryan Lizza, Scaramucci crossed the boundary of rationality.
It began when Lizza received, and then tweeted information regarding Trump’s evening dinner plans with Scaramucci, the first Lady, Sean Hannity, and former Fox New executive Bill Shine. Scaramucci apparently felt the dinner plans were privileged information, and was not to be released by the White House staff. Enraged, he called Lizza to find the source of the news. Lizza refused to tell Scaramucci, and after threatening to fire the entire White House communications staff, Scaramucci aimed his anger at Reince Priebus. He stated “Reince is a fucking paranoid schizophrenic, a paranoiac,” “Oh, Bill Shine is coming in. Let me leak the fucking thing and see if I can cock-block these people the way I cock-blocked Scaramucci for six months.”
Scaramucci went on to tell Lizza that, unlike other senior officials, he had no interest in media attention. “I’m not Steve Bannon, I’m not trying to suck my own cock,” he said, speaking of Trump’s top strategist. “I’m not trying to build my own brand off the fucking strength of the President. I’m here to serve the country.”
If this all happened before the dinner, it’s a pretty safe bet that Scaramucci probably didn’t have a chance to relax, settle in, and enjoy a fine meal with pleasant guests at the White House that evening.
