Claiming he has the most loyal voter base, Donald Trump claimed that he could shoot somebody on 5th Avenue (in New York) and he wouldn’t lose any votes. Whether that is actually true remains to be seen, and hopefully will never be proven. However, voters, especially older voters, have proven to be extremely loyal to their party, regardless of who the candidate is.
******* UPDATE ******* A revealing video of Donald Trump disparaging women was released shortly before the election (Access Holywood tape). Despite universal condemnation, Trump was elected as President a few weeks later. His base remained loyal, and apparently did not care about his lack of morals, ethics or beliefs towards women. It was reported over 88% of Republicans still voted for Trump, while 89% of Democrats voted for Hillary Clinton.
