It was a record few thought could be broken. Five (5) lies (untruths) told in one tweet. If there was anybody who could do it, it would be Trump. He was the only man out there with the audacity to try. Five untrue statements and/or flat out lies.
Oddsmakers in Vegas had him down as a 3/2 favorite that he could do it. But there were doubters. “Five? Man, that’s a lot of lying in just a 280 characters” said Fred Green who was in Vegas watching the odds. “No way man, there’s just no way” Green’s friend Tim Miller blurted out. “My money is against him, no way a man can tell five lies in one tweet” Miller said,
And yet he did. President Trump was accomplished what no man had done before. He set the record of telling five lies in one tweet when he sent out this masterpiece about the Russian investigation:
The Mueller probe should never have been started in that there was no collusion and there was no crime. It was based on fraudulent activities and a Fake Dossier paid for by Crooked Hillary and the DNC, and improperly used in FISA COURT for surveillance of my campaign. WITCH HUNT!
Untruth #1 – The investigation started two months before Mueller was hired when FBI Director James Comey testified before Congress that the FBI had already been investigating Trump’s campaign for its ties to Russia. Mueller was hired after the probe had already started. It was not initially a “Mueller probe”.
Untruth #2 – No crime? Mueller has charged 19 people with crimes. Of those, five have already pleaded guilty, including Trump’s former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn. His campaign manager Paul Manafort is facing many, many charges and Manafort’s best buddy is going to testify against him. No crime? People are going to prison for many years.
Untruth #3 – No Collusion? Says who? The investigation isn’t over, and Steve Bannon has already said that Donald Trump Jr. was treasonous in his actions when he met with the Russians in Trump Tower. Republicans on the house Intelligence Committee have said they found “no evidence”, but Democrats on the same committee have a different opinion. Time will tell, and the courts will decide.
Untruth #4 – Based on fake Dossier – Democrats and Republicans have admitted the original inquiry began with George Papadopoulos’ having a bar conversation with an Australian diplomat who claimed Russia had dirt on Hillary Clinton. The Papadopoulos information triggered the opening of an FBI counterintelligence investigation in late July 2016 by FBI agent Peter Strzok. The investigation is not based on the dossier.
Untruth #5 – The FISA order to begin surveillance on Carter Page happened after Page left the campaign. It was not, as Trump claims, used for surveillance of his campaign.
Wow, so many false assertions and untrue statements packed into just one tweet. It takes a bold man to try such a feat, but perhaps that is why almost half of America voted for him. Because he is the best at what he does, and what he does is lie.
