In a bit of hypocrisy, President Trump today kicked off “Made in America Week” which is meant to promote US manufacturing. What many people found ironic is that Trump, and his daughter Ivanka, have few of the products they sell in the United States, actually made in the United States. The Washington Post has reported that Ivanka Trump relies exclusively on manufacturers outside of the United States. White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said it would be “inappropriate” for him to comment on the President’s own business.
Adding insult to injury, Trump’s Mar-A-Lago club in Florida applied this week to hire 70 foreign workers to work at the resort. Why not hire Americans? According to the application with the Department of Labor, the resort is unable to qualified Americans to fill the positions.
